“God’s glory is the expression of the infinite beauties of His manifold perfections.”
Describing the glory of God might not be as easy a task as describing a chair, but the opening quote of this post although quite wordy resonates deeply since I came across it. God is Holy. He is in a class of His own – unmatched and He has put His outclassing status of holiness on display in order that He alone will be glorified.
And one cried to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” (Isaiah 6:3 NKJV)
He created everything for His glory and that includes man. As image bearers, we have the ability to create. However, not as independent gods seeking glory from our creation. All that we create must be to God’s own glory, not ours.
I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth— Everyone who is called by My name,
Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” (Isaiah 43:6,7 NKJV)
Unfortunately, our creative urge can be steered in wrong directions causing us to worship our creativity and the praise of those who follow our work. In the chaos of cosmic treason, those who are created in the likeness of God fashion replacement gods in their own shattered likeness through their own misplaced creativity. But this cannot be my story, I’m of a different breed with the Spirit of God living in me. Getting caught in the crosshairs of pride would make me a glory thief.
To the praise of my Father, I know that my whole existence and all that I’m allowed to create is for His glory. So this is more than a project, it is carefully written with intent. Its crux is God whispering to me “it’s not about you.” He gave a gift and taught me how to wrap it. It will forever stand as a monument in my discography always reminding me and many blessed souls that we were made for God’s glory. I was made for HIS GLORY ALONE.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)
