The Accra One Life Jam was lit! After months of intensive hype and dedicated social media presence, One Life Jam, the biggest urban gospel concert in Ghana, finally came off on the 17th of November, 2017 at the forecourt of Prestige Hostel, UPSA.
This amazing annual concert is geared towards creating an awareness that man has just one life to live; contrary to the popular opinion of video games like Mortal Kombat or Super Mario where the characters have multiple lives. One Life Jam, therefore, serves as a reminder that once your life ends, there is no second chance, hence the need to make your life count before you die.
This year’s One Life Jam was dubbed Intoxicated it was inspired by Ephesians 5 verse 18-20 18: “Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him. Speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, [offering praise by] singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks to God the Father for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 being subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
A constant infilling of Holy Ghost leaves us Intoxicated with the Spirit. The way to live well and not merely exist is to be filled by the Spirit of God, intoxicated with his all-consuming presence at all times.
The aura was heavenly and heavily saturated with Holy Spirit as Pastor Elikem begun with an opening prayer. The atmosphere was further stirred and we were enveloped with the presence of God! Boy did we jam. 17th November was a night packed with music, poetry, exhortation, word, joy, word ministration, healing and dance. Of a truth, there is liberty in Christ. People worshipped in total abandon none considering the opinion of another as everyone one was intoxicated.
Every ministration was Spirit-filled and uplifting. When we got to the climax of the Jam, our man of God, Rev. Isaac Oti-Boateng gave an exhortation on the importance of being born again and living for God. He mentioned that even if one soul gets saved, then we have achieved our purpose.
We greatly rejoiced when more than one soul came forward to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. If heaven rejoices over a soul, then there must have been an uproar in heaven at that moment. We rejoice because a soul is a soul and a soul is important to God. This experience was the highlight of The One Life Jam. We are grateful to God that he used the One Life Jam to reach out to the world through his servants. Rev. Isaac Oti-Boateng went on to invite anyone who was willing and ready to use their talents and giftings to glorify God. So many people responded to the call.
3one6 (Love Economy’s urban gospel music group) released a single “In The Name of Jesus” from their upcoming album “The New Life“.
We enjoyed more ministrations, then Rev. Isaac Oti-Boateng prayed and blessed us. We ended the Jam with singing and rapping along to the “One Life Anthem”.
Indeed, we will be intoxicated until next year when we meet again at the One Life Jam. See Ya!
